As Zimbabwe’s creative scene continues to expand, two Bulawayo talents are drawing attention beyond the city. Social work student and content creator Samantha Moyo has built a TikTok audience of around 26,000 followers with her lifestyle posts, proving that consistent, relatable content can open doors. Still studying, Moyo is now looking toward a bigger stage and broader reach.
In the music space, rapper and producer Blessing Banda—better known as Tojey Blox—has faced a difficult path. A serious robbery setback could have derailed his ambitions, but he has fought back and is now finding himself in the same rooms as international acts Ne-Yo and South African heavyweight Cassper Nyovest. His story is one of resilience and determination.
Both stories reflect a wider wave of young Zimbabwean creatives using digital platforms and sheer perseverance to build careers. As they push for larger audiences, their journeys are likely to inspire others in Bulawayo and beyond.
